[Pride]

(1.)

‎

(a personality cult surrounds the city. so prevalent it extends into the sewers. dirty tunnels named after Him. even the machinery...)

‎

(cameras protrude from every structure. feeding images back to an immense control room. this is where the mayor spends the majority of his day. occasionally discovering blind spots & having them rectified. steadily drawing closer to omniscience...)  ‎ ‎

‎

(2.)

‎

(people here tend to be beautiful. anyone unattractive placed under house arrest. allocated deadlines to reattain city standards. those failing to meet them have their citizenship revoked...)

‎

(everyone now hooked on plastic surgery. doctors forsaking treatment of life-threatening illnesses for rhytidectomies & hair transplants. city economy at this stage dependent on the cosmetic sector. without it everything would collapse...)

[Envy]

(1.)

‎ ‎

(a settlement under a near-permanent overcast. population morbidly depressed. those radiating love reported to authorities & removed from their homes...)

‎ ‎

(dark facilities lurk on city outskirts. within which men operate without expression. all of them obsessed with isolating happiness...)

(subjects eventually released without comment. the sight of them serving as examples to the rest of the population...)

‎ ‎

(2.)

‎

(citizens avoid positive relationships. abusive ones sought instead. a certain drug is commonplace here known to sustain a certain emptiness. users report nightmarish hallucinations. insights into another realm. psychonauts known to megadose in attempts to map it reaches...)

[Wrath]

(1.)

‎ ‎

(a city populated by men. forever clashing over misconstrued looks. vast barroom brawls spilling across entire districts. homes without electricity or running water. lumps swaddled with tarpaulin. buried within glass thickets...)

‎ ‎

(employers operate notorious training programs. ceremonies within dark subterranea. agents ingesting a black fungi that grows within petroleum. most left disassociated, teetering on the threshold of madness. mumbling to themselves during assignments as clients shift uneasily...)

‎ ‎

(2.)

‎ ‎

(the M.O.T.H.E.R satellites never blink. always primed to quash the next rebellion. discharging wavelengths that convert hatred to lust...)

(insurgents exchanging confused looks. fusing into a bizarre fleshy meadow. all spasming as one...)

[Sloth]

(1.)

‎

(the grid extends over a hundred square miles. its citizens rarely spotted outside. automated homes pandering to their every need. interiors altering to recreate various environments: cinemas, theatres, restaurants. all indistinguishable from reality after a pinch of White Glory...)

‎

(Control log all manner of domestic mishaps. intoxicated citizens stumbling into walls. mechanical arms malfunctioning. residents scolded with tea or given the orgasm of a lifetime...)

‎ ‎

(vitals perpetually monitored. sooner or later coming to a standstill. automatons immediately dispatched. every cell eradicated without ceremony...)

‎ ‎

(2.)

‎

(darkness envelops the substrata. floors rife with defective machinery. architects move between them selling unauthorised programs...)

(homes here are often modified in hazardous manners. inhabitants occasionally killed or driven mad by malicious software. the latter stumbled upon years down the line...)

[Greed]

(1.)‎

‎(The Vault radiates a terrible darkness. brushes off dozens of armed robberies per year. chairperson nevertheless assassinated every four or so months...)

 ‎

(the pseudopolis centres around it. districts saturated in meagre business. all fronts for money laundering. empty homes as far as the eye can see...)

‎

‎(welfare systems here are long-disassembled. charities routinely shut down. insolvents stripped of assets & expelled. as such an immense shanty town extends beyond city limits. millions of outcasts still with subscriptions to pay. threadbare services lent to whoever can afford them...)

‎

(every now & then a prophet is born, stirs up the masses. authorities promptly mobilise. impose chemical salvation...)

‎

(2.)

‎

(debtors wander labyrinthine interstices. long-forgotten by employers. appealing to the kaleidoscopic horizon...)

[Gluttony]

(1.)

‎

(a dark bazaar clogs central streets. meats hanging in dizzying sequences. some of which are grotesque. blind things rumoured to have been pulled from the ground. tourists who consume them never the same...)

‎

(ambrosia is distilled here. those who taste it become immediately addicted. mumbling to themselves in languages long-forgotten. from then on transfixed by the relic in city square. an ominous thing excavated some time ago by a dozen madmen. runes across its length send translators into strange reverie…)

‎

(2)

‎

(temples devoted to the drink exist throughout the city. more spring up as the reverence spreads. heretics disappear in tandem...)

‎

(wardens are occasionally sent in to dismantle infrastructure. addicts rounded up & put through rehabilitation centres. otherwise the Order would be all there was...)

[Lust]

(1.)
‎

(Eden is an immense network of red-light districts. sex workers constitute a third of the population. pleasure bots another tenth. every nuance catered for..)

‎ ‎

(androids malfunction now & then. stalk roadways making lewd comments. are later brought down in a barrage of gunfire. the ultimate electric thrill...)

(the city is rigged with an immense network of surveillance devices. resident's lives broadcast worldwide. tap water laced with aphrodisiacs. a thirty-day erotic festival thrown in June...)

‎ ‎ ‎

(occasionally comes an outbreak of venereal disease. cast members taken from limelight. districts thoroughly sterilised. a new season then begins...)

‎ ‎ ‎

(2.)
‎ ‎ ‎

(young adults soon brought to warehouses. fused to pleasure apparatus & an extended circulatory system. the latter mothering them as they power the districts...)
‎ ‎ ‎

(this decade-long service is mandatory to lower classes. many dedicate their lives to it. mainly those having fallen in love with the machine...)
